The team at English Animal Clinic consists of caring professionals who believe in treating pets as if they were their own furry family members. The clinic offers a full range of veterinary services including pet vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, dentals procedures such as tooth extractions or oral surgery (for animals), microchipping for identification purposes and more! Dr. Natalie Cormier

Dr. Natalie Cormier

Owner/Veterinarian

Dr. Nat is a proud Acadiana native who loves giving back to her community by providing affordable, high-quality veterinary care to her clients. Her professional goals within the clinic include building long-lasting client relationships and leading a team of skilled and knowledgeable veterinary professionals. Her special interests include preventative and critical care, as well as soft tissue surgery. Outside the clinic, she enjoys raising horses and cattle, spending time at the beach, and running. Dr. Nat has cherished the opportunity to build her veterinary team, where the culture is centered on family, fearless leadership, and a shared commitment to growth and continuous self-improvement. Dr. Katie Habetz

Associate Veterinarian and Medical Director

Dr. Katie Habetz has served our team as an associate veterinarian beginning in 2023. Her approach to treating your furry companions involves combining a deep knowledge of traditional medicine with a growing expertise in holistic care. She graduated from the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine in 2013 and later expanded her skills by completing a certification in large and small animal acupuncture through Chi University in 2023. Her approach to veterinary care focuses on treating the whole animal—physically and emotionally—while fostering long-term trust with her clients.  Originally from Destrehan, Dr. Habetz now lives in Crowley with her husband, Aaron, and their two sons, Joseph and Emmett. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys cooking, baking, and creating memories with her family.

Lead Surgery Nurse

Isabelle has been with EAC since 2019!  She has matured into her role as a dedicated surgical assistant who plays a key part in keeping our patients safe and comfortable during their surgical or anesthetic procedures. With a calm and caring approach and high attention to the little details, she helps ensure every surgery runs smoothly from start to finish. You can thank Isabelle, mostly, for your pet’s pearly whites after a dental procedure! Outside of the clinic, you’ll usually find her spending quality time with her family and furry companions! Her love for animals shines through in everything she does, making her a valued part of the team.

Shyra is our longest standing employee, starting with Dr. English in 2014. Shyra is our anchor in the waves, a breath of fresh air and a warm hug all rolled into one. With years of experience and a deep compassion for animals, she brings both skill and warmth to every patient she cares for. Outside the clinic, Shyra enjoys spending time with her family, and nurturing her garden—two of her greatest joys. Whether she’s tending to pets or plants, or her daughter, Shyra’s nurturing spirit shines through in all she does.

Veterinary Assistant and Lead Hospital Nurse

Alainie started her career in veterinary medicine in 2018 as an Emergency Medical Nurse in Lake Charles, LA. She joined our team in 2021, and she brings with her a passion for critical animal care and medicine. You will find Alainie helping during busy appointment times, but her expertise is usually focused on our hospitalized patients, where she provides focused and compassionate care in critical moments. Outside of work, Alainie shares her life with her husband, Brandon, she is a proud mom of two children and two dogs(one of which can be found lounging in our breakroom often-Levi the Doodle).  Her dedication to her faith, her family, and her patients makes her a valued member of our team. We are blessed to have her!

Kelly has been a valued member of our team since 2020. You get to experience her friendly and helpful demeanor during routine appointments, and she plays a vital role in making sure your pet stays on track for all chronic disease management medications.

Office Manager and Lead Receptionist

Bailey joined our team in 2024 and has proven to be the missing link we needed. You can catch her friendly smile almost every day you walk in the front door! Her kindness, efficiency, and dedication make her a true asset to our team. She is currently working toward becoming a Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM), so catch her with credentials behind her name soon! 

Outside of work, Bailey enjoys reading, horseback riding, and spending quality time with her two young children, Everly and Tate. At home, she’s also kept company by her affectionate Maine Coon cat, Violet.

Veterinary Assistant and Lodge Pet Care Attendant

Hayden joined our team in 2025 and you’ll see him either assisting during appointments or caring for pets at The Lodge Pet Resort, our sister company. He aspires to build a lasting career in veterinary medicine with a focus on animal welfare, mental wellness, and behavior. Combining hands-on care with a passion for medical treatment and mental enrichment, Hayden is dedicated to helping animals thrive both physically and emotionally. Outside of work, he is working toward becoming a certified animal trainer, enjoys serving in leadership at his church, and shares his home with his cat, Toph. When your pets are in Hayden’s care, he’ll make sure you—and they—“have a blessed day!”

Allison Higdon

Veterinary Assistant

Allison joined our team in 2025, bringing with her a unique perspective on both life and work. Deaf since childhood due to meningitis, she channels exceptional focus, deep empathy, and unwavering dedication into everything she does. Her passion for animal welfare and well-being is unmatched, and her life’s challenges have only strengthened her role as a true advocate for animals. After earning a Master’s Degree in Geology, Allison chose to follow her heart toward a career in veterinary medicine. She will be applying to vet school in the fall of 2025—wish her luck! She can be found in the clinic, keeping it organized, making sure inpatient care is held to the highest standard, and running routine appointments. Be sure to give her a wave when you see her, in case her “ears are off”!  Outside of work, Allison enjoys caring for her animals, Magnolia, a Golden Retriever, Dutchess, and Conrad, her two cats. Allison would also like to advocate for the non-hearing community and for general public outreach by directing you to check out the Louisiana Association of the Deaf. LAD

Tayla-A Wonder from Down Under- first joined our team at The Lodge in 2023 and now splits her time between both businesses. Her passion for animal wellness shines through her rescue work, notably fostering cats and volunteering with Because of Brucey, a local non-profit for our feline brethren. Originally from Australia, Tayla has been living in the U.S. since 2022 and brings her dedication and love for animals to every role she takes on. Tayla wears many hats for both the clinic and the Lodge, and she does so with ease. Her work ethic is unbeatable and shows through in her devotion to every person she works with and every pet she cares for.
